International provides a theme each year in order to simplify
planning, offer consistent and high quality resources, and deepen
our collective understanding of scripture and its application
to our lives. |
Desire
for Light
During
the early mom years, as moms seek to nurture their children, they
often become increasingly aware of the darkness and dangers of the
world around them. Often moms with young children gain hope by talking
to other moms who are a little farther down the mothering road and
have moved through some of the physical and emotional milestones
in mothering. We seek to be a source of light and hope to moms who
are hungry for meaningful relationships and perspective on life
as a woman and a mom.
As
we plan our MOPS year, we strive to remember that the women we are
welcoming into our group come from many places in their faith journey.
Some are not even interested in God, some are seeking God, others
know that their hope is in Jesus and they are growing in that relationship.
"Twinkle: Shine Like Stars in the
Universe" is a gentle, whimsical theme that
starts with a familiar object - twinkling stars - and moves from
that introduction to providing more and more light for moms, as
we hold out the word of life to them.
