Wednesday
Bible study to help make the holidays "holy days."
We
have come to one of my favorite times of the year.
Fall has arrived with cooler weather and the colors
soon follow (well, they were there in Ohio when we
were vacationing there last month). The holidays of
Thanksgiving and Christmas are what really makes this
season special for me.
Our
word holiday is a condensed version of the phrase
holy day. The idea of a holy day is alien
in our culture. Do you think that is because the idea
of holy is alien?
Our
Wednesday night Bible study for the next few weeks
(November 2 through December 14) will follow a series
on the Holiness of God by R.C. Sproul.
This video/discussion study will be in the
Fellowship Hall each week at 7:00 PM.
We
will sit around tables with a cup of coffee and view
each session together. Then we will discuss and respond
to what we are learning. The intent is to deepen our
understanding of Gods holiness, enrich our fellowship
with each other as we learn together, and to fan into
flame our passion for God.
If
you have not developed the habit of attending a mid-week
service, consider doing so during this series. Capture
the essence of the holy day season by
contemplating the holiness of God Himself. Make this
season one of growing more passionate for God and
compassionate for people.
